The Loyola University Chicago Center for Science and Math Education had the honor of participating in the 2025 Beyond100K Summit, themed “Cartographies of Imagination,” held in Chicago on October 28-29. The opening reception took place at Loyola's Water Tower Campus on October 28, setting a collaborative tone for the event.

This summit brought together educators, leaders, and advocates who share a mission to transform how STEM subjects are taught, ensuring that more students experience classrooms characterized by growth and belonging.

We were excited to partner with Chicago Public Schools to facilitate a session on empowering teacher leadership, emphasizing the vital role educators play in shaping science classrooms to be places of belonging where all students can thrive in STEM as well as the role leaders play in ensuring inclusive pathways into STEM teaching and leadership. Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue, sharing insights and strategies to enhance teacher leadership initiatives.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with fellow educators and organizations dedicated to fostering effective teaching practices and identity-affirming STEM classrooms and schools. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the summit!
